Electrical faults don't wait for office hours, and some can't wait at all. If you've lost power, can smell burning, see sparks or have exposed live wiring, call us straight away. Our emergency electricians are available around the clock to make things safe.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Some electrical problems are genuinely dangerous and need dealing with immediately. If you're experiencing any of the below, switch off at the consumer unit if it's safe to do so, and call us right away.
Common emergencies we handle
- Total or partial power loss with a safety risk
- Burning smells or scorch marks around sockets or the fuse box
- Sparks, arcing or buzzing from outlets or switches
- Exposed or damaged live wiring
- Repeatedly tripping fuses that won't reset
- Water that has come into contact with electrics
What to do while you wait
If it's safe, turn off the power at your consumer unit (fuse box). Keep well away from any exposed wiring, water near electrics, or anything that's sparking or hot. Don't attempt repairs yourself. Keep the area clear and wait for our electrician — we'll talk you through anything urgent over the phone.
